George and Amal Clooney are speaking up and giving back.
The Hollywood power couple announced Tuesday they will be marching in support of student survivors of the Parkland, Fla. shooting rampage, according to a statement from George Clooney provided to USA TODAY by his representative Stan Rosenfield.
“Amal and I are so inspired by the courage and eloquence of these young men and women from Stoneman Douglas High School,” the statement reads. “Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country…”
The nationwide group March For Our Lives announced Sunday that they will march in the nation’s capital and other cities to demand safer schools and legislation “to effectively address the gun violence issues that are rampant” across the nation.
The Clooneys also announced they will be donating money to help the march.
“In the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we’re donating 500,000 dollars to help pay for this groundbreaking event,” the statement reads. “Our children’s lives depend on it.”
